Goal & benefit
Recognise blind spots and counterbalances of our strengths before they go into overdrive.
Ideal for
Established teams that want to deepen their collaboration, and teams with recurring friction.
Flow
- 1
Arrival & warm-up
10 minGetting into the topic: what happens when a strength goes into overdrive? Short examples from the group, including provocative ones. Goal: create safety and trigger first aha moments.
- 2
My strength – too much
15 minEach person chooses a strength they personally use and describes a concrete situation in which it was used too much, too early or in the wrong context. Goal: recognise and precisely formulate one's own experiences.
- 3
Blind spot – team game
15 minIn small groups, participants share their situations and mirror each other: which blind spots and opposite tendencies have they recognised? Goal: gain new perspectives and make blind spots visible.
- 4
Develop a counterbalance
20 minEach person reflects: what do I need to use my strength more effectively in future? Identify possible counterbalances, other people's talents or concrete behaviours. Goal: derive concrete counterbalances and support.
- 5
My strengths balance card
10 minEach person creates a personal card with their own strength, too much, blind spot and counterbalance. Exchange in plenary. Goal: create clarity and commitment on different levels.
- 6
Closing & transfer
10 minKey insights, one word for today's workshop and an outlook. Goal: create commitment and kick off implementation.

Facilitator tips
- Create an open, appreciative atmosphere. It is about recognising blind spots in the impact of our strengths and concrete development.
- Example: enthusiasm – I can quickly get others excited about ideas. Too much: I sometimes start faster than others can follow. Blind spot: I overlook concerns or assume agreement too early. Counterbalance: deliberately ask for counterarguments and involve people who see the situation differently.
