Flow
- 1
Arrival & vision
10 minWelcome, short check-in and goal of the session: what makes us special as a team? Agree on the agenda and ground rules together. Goal: create a trusting atmosphere and set the focus.
- 2
Individual reflection
15 minEach person chooses their 3–5 most important Strengthmaker talents and notes examples of how they bring them into everyday work. Goal: become aware of one's own strengths and contributions.
- 3
Best of You – feedback
20 minIn small groups, each person gives the others appreciative feedback: which strengths do I see in you? What impact does this have on the team? Goal: recognise how others see us and our blind spots, and make appreciation tangible.
- 4
Best of Us – spotting patterns
20 minTogether, the team identifies recurring strengths, complementary talents and distinctive team patterns, visualised on a shared map. Goal: develop a shared picture of the team's strengths.
- 5
Transfer: more of this!
15 minThe team derives 2–3 concrete initiatives: how do we want to use our strengths more deliberately in future – in the team and in our projects? Goal: capture concrete next steps and shared commitments.
- 6
Closing
10 minShort round: key insight, personal take-away and one word for the road ahead. Goal: secure the impact and leave with a positive outlook.
Materials & preparation
- Facilitation slide (agenda)
- Strength cards (e.g. the 30 Strengthmaker talents)
- Pens
- Large team canvas (e.g. Miro, whiteboard or poster)
- Optional: digital template and Miro board
Facilitation questions
- 1Which strengths do we experience particularly often in the team, and with great impact?
- 2Where do we complement each other really well right now – and where do we still have untapped potential?
- 3What is one concrete next step to use our strengths even more deliberately in future?
Facilitator tips
- Use the official 30 Strengthmaker talents to structure the conversations and create a shared understanding.
- Keep the team profile alive: use the result as a poster in the team room and come back to it regularly – e.g. in retros or when planning new projects.
- Longer variant (example 3–4 hours): reflect individually → share in the team → spot patterns → design the team profile → secure the transfer.
Outcomes for your team
- An inspiring team profile: a visual picture of strengths that shows the team's uniqueness – and keeps working in everyday life.
- 2–3 concrete initiatives and shared commitments.
